Subject: Gun safe "dryer"

Floyd County, Iowa
Didn't want to hijack the thread below.
Looking at a gun safe, finally, and have a question.
The 120v dryers that I've seen just heat the air, don't they?
My thinking is that you won't have dryer air, just warmer damp air, because the moisture doesn't get absorbed. Right? Wrong?
I was looking at one safe and the dealer said to just put a Peet boot dryer in it. The way a boot dryer works is it just cycles air. Warm air from the heater rises up the tube and is released inside the boot, and as the air cools, it falls down outside that tube, taking moisture with it. But that moisture is just added to the air in the house.
In a gun safe, the moisture can't leave without being absorbed into something and physically removed, can it?
