Subject: Plant 8 rows harvest with 6 row head

North Carolina
Just throwing some planter ideas around in my head. What would it be like, to plant with a 8 row planter and harvest with a 6 row head? Has anyone done this?
With a 8 row planter I could get 30% more done over a 6 row one. By the way, talking about a Kinze 3500 with interplant. I know I should go with 12 row but just seems to big for my fields. And I do not want to go to a 8 row header to wide to go down the road here. With the plant 8 harvest 6, I would be mismatched 2 out of 4 swaths. Right now I harvest some corn for a buddy and he plants with a 5 row and it aint that bad. Also, are the 8 row planters an odd ball?
