| You noticed locking the diff helped so it's likely you are experiencing the mfd vs 2wd issues with holding a line. I guess you could check the obvious like your steering linkage to make sure it's tight. Maybe more front end weight to help generate more ground contact pressure and more positive steering.
Not sure what your tillage is, but if you run a finisher or cultivator maybe run it the same direction as you plant to keep the ground from acting on your front tires.
