I'm not going to say you're wrong, because there are a lot of things I haven't seen. I have seen the 2400 baud sensors cause a monitor to act oddly when mixed with 9600 baud sensors, but not the other way around.
The closest you can get to the original will probably be GA9847. It is a 9600 baud sensor, but it is the oldest sensor number that is still current.
