I would think that this lender should have done its due diligence and had some sort of belief that they would be paid back. I don't understand why banks, implement dealers, fertilizer dealers, seed dealers would deal with them but they do.


Thanks for the post that pulls back the other way a little. A lot of thought provoking there. I won't comment on their situation because I don't know a damn thing about it. I would like to say that after spending nearly 10 years around ag retail, I know exactly why all these entities deal with the big guys. There's 2 reasons: One, it is a tight margin/high volume business that this kind of customer is perfect for. Two, there is a lot of ego on the retail side being able to have these kind of accounts.
