southern MN | Most mail one can access with a web browser. So there is always that way. Depends who you are using for email; hotmail, yahoo, gmail, your isp....
Safari is the browser version on iPad, similar to internet explorer.
But, setting up the 'mail' app already on your iPad is very similar to your mail program on your laptop. No problems.
Cell access in other countries can be odd (or at least $$$$) I hear, finding wifi hotspots should work fine.
