As Joe stated, you could but then in software version 8.X or 9.X they did away with it. Prior to that, you setup NMEA out with AgRemote and it worked fine. When they changed it the only way to get NMEA out was via the GPS config screen on Port A or B.
I agree, they did it to make it harder for 3rd party but, it is just a little cabling issue. NMEA out of A or B, NTRIP in on C or D
