You should get 150 to 200 bales per acre with Alfalfa/orchard grass. Frist year about half that.
Seed 20lbs alf. and 5 to 7 of orchard grass per acre.
Have the the kids sell the extra hay in winter to put some $$ back in their pockets for the care of animals and the work of square baling. Good work ethic builder.
Wow 10 acres in one field, now I'm jealous. LOL.
