The DigiFarm Beacon will plug into serial port B of the 6500 cable. There is a small adapter cable that will also provide power to the Beacon when you turn on your Ag Leader display. All of the connections will take place at the end of the display cable and at the end of the 6500 cable.

I see no reason why you can't "hide" the beacon behind a cab panel. Before you conceal everything you may want to do a simple test/check to verify that everything works properly.

The standard location to install a Beacon on a Trimble 252/262/372 as well as JD 3000 and JD 6000 is directly next to the receiver outside of the cab. The BT communication in this scenario has to go through the headliner and the metal roof (say 3-4 ft). The BT communication works great in this application. In your application you are sending BT through a single cab panel about 2-3 ft away.
