keep rolling, I've had enough times where I was excessively speeding where I slammed the brakes soon as I was caught they spun around I throw on my belt quick thinking I'm screwed they get close enough to run the plates and figure they don't want to give me a ticket and turn off somewhere, figure that's as good as a warning to slow down a bit.
