| As I'm sure you know, soil type & how deep you plow will make a difference in how much tractor you need. We have a 7x16"700 trailer plow & a 7x16" 720 onland plow. In our Sable (heavy black) & Ipava loams (black) we pull them with a Magnum 275 & a Magnum 315, 10 -12" deep and around 6mph in corn stalks in the fsll. "Here" ground usually plows harder in the fall than spring but will work down much better if fall plowed. Been close to 40 years since I have plowed hay gtound but I do remember alfalfa plowed a gear harder than clover. | |
