We thought the wear on the outer ring was responsible for the poor tooth life....we replaced the whol rake with a new one, and the tooth life still sucks. I don't know if the teeth aren't as good as they were tenfifteen twenty years ago or what, but they sure don't last like they did back then, or so it seems.
