As for opening your MS Works sheets, you should be able to do so, but, depending on the version, you may have to save the "original" or "master" one on the other machine with an ".xls" extension. Most formulas, if not all, will move forward just fine; however, formatting will likely be lost.

MS Works is a very good, while very inexpensive suite of programs. I still use the database version of it almost daily.
