IL, South of 70 | To reply to curious, it’s ground corn, 3/4 screen in grinder run about 1/2-3/4 throttle Kent nrb pellets, and gluten pellets. Also use Purina accuration balancer on other pen. We feed no roughage at all. Don’t have any to bale. Just keep bedded well with cornstalks. Same thing when we run Holsteins, finish around 1300-1500. We do get some heifers that will finish in that 1050-1150 range from time to time. Most 1200-1350. We’ve found out staying away from sale barn and buying direct from cow calf guy has been helping us get bigger framed calves. We also implant 2-3 times depending on size receiving and usually leave bills intact till 6-700lbs | |
