Though it might not apply to these hybrids, it's my understanding that there was a little reverse engineering going on a monsanto on pioneer inbreds. However, when pioneer needed the roundup ready gene an agreement was made and all the acustations disappeared. So, it's possible that a some Monsanto and Pioneer hybrids may have some or all genetics in common.
