Subject: RE: Spring burndown on old pasture land in central MO

Eastern Nebraska
I did that exact thing a few years ago on a field that was half CRp and half pasture. First I fixed any washouts or wallow areas left by the cows with the dirt scraper, Then I burned it down with a healthy dose of RU 24D and a pre-emerge that I cant remember. It was still quite rough and I couldnt disk it without it slabbing sod so I set the field cultivator at ground level or 1/4" deep and went across it. That knocked down all the ant hills and grass clumps etc. and made it pretty smooth. Then I no-tilled right into the sod and prayed for rain. It did and were pretty decent beans.
