I tried fluid film on a fertilizer spreader once and it was a waste of time and money. Definitely do the rust covering paint though.
That's kind of opposite what I've seen. Used to have the pulleys and spinners rust but ever since I started soaking them with Fluid Film the paint has even stayed on since I put new ones on when I rebuilt it. It's not cheap but I really have good luck with it. I use it on battery terminals too and exposed chrome rods on cylinders, it's nice and sticky and will stay through rain where other products will dry up or wash off |
