KY | I don’t think my 20’ trailer empty with singles is gonna do much for my ton dually if it breaks loose, much more worried about my trailer brakes locking prematurely with no load and sliding around a turn into oncoming traffic. Had a neighbor do that about 20 years ago with a flatbed, the trailer broke loose, crossed the center line and the deck edge went through the windshield of a car, right into the drivers forehead. Dead on impact obviously, neighbor never got over it. I try to stay off the brakes when towing and it’s slick, I let the engine braking do its thing when set to tow mode as much as possible and am very precautious about slowing down extremely early if a descent to a stop is involved. | |
