Subject: RE: Row Spacing

NWMO
k&d farms ----- I have been using 10" rows on corn and beans the past 4 years previously was on 30" for corn and 15" for beans. I do not have this years data compiled yet but 3 years of data shows a 19.5 bu increase in the corn it seems consistent at that increase. Corn populations from 32k -44k. I have done strip test across on field with alternating 10-20-30 inch rows the last 2 years. It has worked out as some above have noticed a 10 bu increase in yield with each jump down in row spacing. 10" highest yield 30" lowest. The temperature in the canopy is considerable less in the narrow rows. Plan was to do this for 5 years and then see what I will do going forward. I plan to put moisture probes in the different row widths this year to see what that shows.
