We keep the air compressor tank drained purty regular, and use a water separator like you mentioned...We drain the bowl when fluid is noticed but haven't added antifreeze=I am kind of skeered of antifreeze fumes getting in the air stream when painting so we never add fluid to the bowl...We don't have the cold weather that you do, but it is still below 30 degrees these past three weeks, below zero many nights.
