Subject: RE: Tilt calibration.....

Hillsboro, AL

Yes, I am running the Trimble RTK autopilot with the Field Manager Display on a MT765 Cat.  To check the tilt calibration:

  • Make sure that there are no offsets set in the system.
  • Drive an straight A/B line on a firm surface where you can easily see your tracks.  Drive at least 400'.
  • Turn around and drive the same line coming from the other direction.  If you are not directly on top of the first track, the tilt needs calibrating.

My unit was off 5" before I calibrated it.  If you don't have surface where you can see your tracks, you can stop then the unit is "online" and stick a flag directly under the draw bar and use if for a reference, but I find using the tracks to be easier and more accurate.
