NW Indiana | I agree the government should be very limited. But with an open mind I do see good purposes of crp. Wildlife habitat, erosion control, water quality, bees etc. We view it as taking farmland but if you look at it many years prior much of it wasn’t farmland anyway. Do we complain about national forest not being farmed? State fish and wildlife areas? Those acres have a tremendous carrying cost also. Acres of it could be farmed, how is it any different? But I must say I feel those serve a good purpose. In my not so far area there is more of those acres than crp. | |
