The FMX is always unlocked for steering, you just need the components.

If you want to steer and control grade with the same monitor, you need the 2nd internal globe unlocked or a 262/372 with the internal unlocked to RTK/Glonass. Since the wheel machines are slower they normally incorporate a linear actuator instead of a steering sensor.

That quote was for steering only I am assuming. Adding grade only is WM-Drain unlock and a valve module kit.

How are you getting your corrections? Base/CORS? CORS can be pretty spotty over by the OH/IN line due to cell coverage.
