Subject: RE: GTA-II Compatability across various Agco platforms?

Redwood Falls, MN
I have been running a 2009 8202 12 row with a GTA II from our A65 since it was new. I never reprogrammed anything between the planter and combine. The planter info is saved on the PDCA on the planter and it will upload when you plug it in. I put a stand alone harness in the tractor (about $2200) and I hooked up a toggle switch to the implement switch connection on the planter harness but I believe there is a spot on the cab harness for a master switch. We variable rate planted with it but it won't do row shutoffs. It is a bit of an issue to setup and designate hybrids or varieties for mapping. We have also used the C2100 from our Massey 9540 combine and the c1000 in my massey 7624 tractor, all for variable rate seeding on that planter. The thought of using the combine yield monitor to control the planter started with the old Fieldstar unit from our R42 Gleaner to control a 6100 white back in 1997. I like the GTA II monitor better than the C2100 and much better than the crappy C1000.
