If the only thing in that box is a gyro, that box is huge. A solid-state gyro is tiny. I have one on a break out board that is 1 inch square by 1/4 inch tall.

Due to the height of the box, I am suspicious that there might be 3 gyros (one for each axis). Gyros are commonly made in a single axis per chip, so you would need to mount them at 3 different angles.

Any possibility that there is a digital compass in either the nav controller or autosense?
