Coles County, Illinois | My dad was on 36" rows we planted 8 and harvested 4. I went to 30" rows and bought a 8 row 30" planter and a 6 row head. The only issue I've had is on the second pass where I've had fence or telephone posts to wiggle around and an infrequent oops where I didn't get turned around properly. I may have to take 4 rows for a little bit and back up to get the other two or vice versus. It's no big deal and a 30" cornhead will allow a fair amount variance in your bulk row.
You can also just take 4 or 5 rows with a 6 row. | |
