Subject: striptill vs 2x2

We are currently set up to do nh3 and spread our MESZ on for corn and canola in fall,
I would like to have my fertilizer more efficient closer to the plant due to the fact that we rowcrop canola, corn and soybeans.
I've had issues in the past were we had a cold spring and the 10-34 wasn't sufficient (use 4 gallon in furrow) enough to get the plant going before it hit the nh3 and the mesz wasn't enough to pull it through, maybe I should use some 46-0-0 dry fert in fall as a booster but I think more effecient placement of fert might compensate for that.

looked into striptill as a source to place fert at 15 and 30 inch vs deeptiller at 12 inch and spreader, also looked at a 2x2 system to add some 28-0-0 and some more 10-34 beside the plant 7 gallons 10-34 5 gallons 28-0-0

we are in a heavy clay soil that sometimes tends to stay cool
the 2x2 is not my favorite as our DB60 47 row already heavy enough as it is, don't feel like adding coulters are extra knives or carrying more liquid in spring but if it gives more yield it might be worth it.

appreciate your help
