Im posting this for others who need to do this. Im not an expert by any means but have this experience.

U dont need the special tool to do this job if its not available. 2 dial indicators and some fab will make the tool. It will be easier to do with heads off if ur not using the tool.

put dial indicator on piston to find true TDC.

Make a bracket that will hold the inj push rod straight or any rod down to cam follower will work, doesn't need to be a push rod, just something that will have repeatable seating in cam follower. The bracket to push rod will need a spring to push down on the rod with some force to take the slack out of the system and a place to mount a dial indicator to monitor push rod travel.

When rotating engine the 45, 90 deg just mark the crank and turn it that much per cylinder, its not necessary to be spot on, going past the 45 or 90 will not bother the settings.

The tool is nice but if u have to buy it, its not worth the $800. Its easy to make one if needed
