northeastern Ohio | Health sharing is an alternative to insurance that is an approved exemption to ObamaCare. They are run by church groups. It's been around for 30 years or more. You pay in a certain amount each month and that money gets sent to other people in the group with medical needs. When you need money for medical bills, they send money to you. Because they are run by non-profit groups, they can do it much cheaper than an insurance company.
I heard about it years ago from some Mennonite families in my area. Then ObamaCare (Affordable Care Act) forced me to either purchase insurance, pay a tax fine, or go with a health sharing group. I chose the health sharing. | |
