'Here' and 'there' will be so different, but any sort of chisel or ripper that brings up clods and leaves the ground rough works here.
You mentioned a field cultivator in there somewhere, that would be a really poor thing to use, it leaves the ground too smooth here - tho all our field cultivators have spring tookpth harrows on the back to really make it smooth....
