Not sure about your question, but I can understand the temptation to try it. I use the 460 synthetic gear oil in the reverser, the primary countershaft gear case and the Crary wind system gear box. As far as I can tell, it's the same oil used in Drago corn heads so I buy a 5 gal pail of the Mobil brand from the Drago dealer put a pump on the pail and use it multiple places. It is cheaper per quart by the pail from Drago than in the quart bottles from JD, but it's still expensive.
