Either way, I was happy owning them at a certain price. I could lock in my profit before I had the cattle in the yards. if the market goes down to where I got in at, I will lift the position and then buy them in the cash market if they keep going lower. if they keep going higher, when I buy cash, I lift the position, then use that to hedge against the purchase.
