Actually Don, it pulled pretty nice this year. They had gotten a couple of inches of rain early in the week before the show & it made things fairly mellow. It's hard to do a good job with all the different plows. When an 80 yr old plow runs in front of a 30 yr old plow and 1 is pulled by 20 hp and the other by 200 hp, it's just hard to make them equal. I'd like to see a maximum suggested depth though. Some of the late model semi-mounts will let the back bottom go down to 11" or so. Then, if a smaller, older tractor with a pull-type plow follows, he drags the tractor and/or the plow hitch on the ground due to the furrow depth. Probably no need for 11" plowing. You need to come up there some time Don! |
