I agree with you on this one. The sets I have put in all wound uo leaking, including the ones on my 4430, which I have resealed as well as a factory rep had looked at and couldnt get them to stop leaking.
I agree with msb about using the o-ring and backup ring setup instead of the quad rings as they should be just thrown away.
Were the square seals supplied with the ISO kit that fitted between the housing and ISO conversion cartridges really quad rings ? I seem to remember that they were actually a little internal lip seal that depended on system pressure to press that little inner lip against the ISO cartridge.
They made it a lot easier to slide the cartridge in the body for coupling, but their failing was that they needed pressure to seal.
When the tractor was parked and the lines back to the couplers had 0 pressure, the seal lips relaxed and leaked all the oil in the lines / SCV down the back of the tractor. |
