Subject: RE: Outback Systems

These guys have summed up Outback very well. I thought I could plant with mine, but was also very dissapointed. The probem is drift with WAAS. I think if Outback would offer Omnistar or dual frequency RTK it would be satisfactory, atleast on straight rows. Probem is that they don't. The Baseline is OK but a real hassle if you have small fields. My experience was that it had about 1 mile range. Any fence row that you can not see through will block the signal. I guess Baseline beats nothing, but if you are starting from scratch and know that you will need high accuracy, then buy elsewhere.

However if you are sold on Outback there was a good deal on an S3, E-drive, and Baseline on the "Agtalk for Sale" site.
