Subject: RE: We Are Competitive

At the bottom of link, most recent history. US sales on the books this time last year were twice what they are today.

Last year SA crop sucked and we filled that hole. This year they have plenty and are going to be competition. They have even resisted selling this summer because of price, which mean they have more to move at some point in time. Maybe soon. I've never been to Brazil, but those that have say grain storage isn't plentiful. Wouldn't want to store in temporary facilities for long.

We had 400,000 mt (14.66 mill bu) that look like they are getting rolled to next marketing year also. Not a big deal, but it happened.

The crop might finish out good, it could still be a wreck, who knows what the weather will be, if the growing season will end early, if dicamba will have any effect or not. If the crop is short, some of the shortfall could easily just transfer to a smaller export total, SA have a few extra.

As for me...

I will probably have my needs purchased soon for next spring and summer. So price will be a non-issue.
Soy is still the most expensive source of amino acids that I use in rations, plenty of alternatives, and all more economical.
