I've trucked quite a bit of equipment across the border (none withing the last couple of years tho). What a US customs officer told me was "any self propelled vehicle with tires" must stop at US Customs prior to leaving the US. I told him then why do I see all these trucks rolling up to the booth without coming in here to see you? He just shrugged his shoulders and said we don't enforce it. I bet less than 10% of truck drivers stop at US Customs to meet these export requirements.

I could be wrong but I think that only applies to cars and trucks.
