North Central Oregon | Farm in the center of the path of totality here in Oregon had initial plans to have one of their fields (about 40 acres) turned into camping spots. Sold out of the first 250 spots decided to add another field and 250 more spots. Last I heard 3 weeks ago that area was very close to being sold out. Prices started at just over $1000 for the weekend for the spots that just were a place to camp and well above that for the deluxe sites. Guess they are making money while the sun don't shine. I am sure there are farms in the path of totality that could have been purchased and paid off by selling camping for this eclipse. Heads up for you in the center of the country for the 2024 eclipse,it may be a good way to quickly pay down a land purchase. | |
