Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska | Don't know what the big deal is because I've never seen a total eclipse so it is a big deal to have a chance to see one and find out if it is a big deal or not.
One interview on TV said "you think you know what your going to see, but you don't".
Also, it's a rare event. Not another one in the US for 7 years which is a rarity in itself that we have 2 eclipses that close together.
The fact that 75% of the earth is covered by water lessens the chance of experiencing one on land.
I guess the fact that it is slim odds of seeing a total eclipse in one's lifetime makes it a big enough deal for me. |
