I don't like to kill the grass in fencerows because a good stand of grass can help choke out weeds. I spray my fencerows with generic Grazon P&D (Gunslinger or Trooper) and it is a mix of 2-4D and Tordon. Tordon has the longest residual I know of that won't harm grass.
