| The employees taking the stolen checks or credit cards often get a cut.
A few years back I had some checks stolen out of the house. They took just a couple out of several books so I didn't notice. After I figured it out I called the bank so they quit paying on those checks. One of the local business called and threatened to prosecute me. She got very quiet when I pointed out that we went to school together and so she knew and helped to to perpetrate the fraud. I did offer to meet her down at the county attorneys office and hoped she would bring those checks in so we could sort it out. | |
