sw wisconsin | Not knowing exactly what you're looking for, or how old kids are, but my wife and I like this place. Basically the cost of a hotel, right on the Namacogin river and across the road from the fishing museum. I admit this might not be what you're looking for but could give an idea for the Hayward area. Also get to use canoes, and right on bike trail.
