As that cow stands today,,,Exactly what Jim says!! The problem is if you grind that whole cow chances are your locker plant will have to add tallow to get enough stick to make a burger patty. It will be excellent burger tho since buying burger from a store they are allowed to add x amount of ice. The ice makes that funny sizzle in the pan AND they have more fat than you really need so browning you have to drain twice or more.. Say you have a 1400 pound cow it will probably grind 350-400 pounds,,,,so altho young families with a few mouths to feed might get it ate up in a year or so. It would be better to have 3 or 4 people share equally,,,then when its gone go find another

NOW if you take that 1400 cow and put her in a pen and full feed her you 'should' feed her 150 days or so that cow will weigh 1950 to 2000 pounds and THAT is an awful large butcher cow and it still isnt going to be as tender as a younger animal. BUT a decent piece of meat and mainly roasts as such. steaks may have to be sauced and put in a slow cooker like a minute steak in creme of mushroom . Or in the oven low and slow

Might ask your buyer what they think they want,,,#1 steak or best burger that walks,,,or roast If you could find a lone yearlingthin steer, put him in the feed yard pen with this cow,,,full feed both for 150 days and find another 1 or 2 families to split 3 or 4 ways for both steer and cow, it would be about right
