NE IL
The areas of NE IA and N IL that got 4"+ in the last 72 hours are going to have some new problems. Already wet fields now have water standing in them and that isn't going anywhere until some of the rivers recede. Tile isn't any good unless it has somewhere to take the excess water, and correct me if I'm wrong, but after 72 hours, oxygen depletion in the saturated soil isn't real conducive to large corn yields. Huge amounts of water moving through ditches, flooded fields, and across roads. Not a crop killer, but by the time you start adding this to the dry areas, areas that have been in excessive heat, replanting, late planting, stuff that should have been replanted and wasn't, it's pretty easy to see why the trade hasn't been too eager to sell this thing off yet.
