I hear the same thing when we spend out winters in Arizona. No need for s camera, cell phones are all you need. At the end of the season they come to me for my SD card because their pictures are not the best. Cell phone work decent for pictures of close up objects in good light. Once they try to zoom in, not so good. But each to their own.
