just a tish NE of central ND | Im no help on you question, It could depend on a lot of conditions and machine options.
A different story for you all;I did have a tractor go down when I had less than one acre of corn left to seed in tilled soil. Only tractor standing handy to hook on to my old 400 cyclo 8 row 30 inch planter was a H international. I thought , it is flat ground....how bad could it be to finish the feild with it?On a 100 HP tractor you cant even tell it is hooked up.So I hooked the planter up and tried it. I ended up seeding in 1st or second gear. I got the job done. The planter (only 8 openers) pulled pretty easily, but that darn cyclo fan took every horspower the tractor had to run that air fan. The air takes more power to push than we expect or realize.Add the ground speed and it was overloaded. Made the temp guage come up fast. |
