Subject: Re: Tandem rake hitches

Leesburg, Ohio
Always thought the dolly-type bridge hitches would be slick for two rakes.

Had two NH rakes and a NH flip-over tandem hitch for a few years. Got by with it. Nice in alfalfa and most hay. Would not work at all in straw. Hard to move between fields, almost impossible to road.

Traded the whole mess on a new Claas tamdem rotary. WOW!!! What a difference. Beautiful, consistent, fluffy windrows, even in heavy, long-stemmed rye straw. Makes two singles or one double. Easy to transport...line em up from the tractor cab and go. Easy to turn and raise up over previously-raked windrows. You just cannot believe how much better it is until you try it.
