Subject: Re: John Burns Long Combines

New Holland conventionals were made in Belgium by New Holland (Europe) which had aquired Claeyson. Claeys which was later called Claeyson in Belgium had built self propelled combines in Europe since the 50's and other combines going back farther I think. In the 50's there were many national brands in each country, but Claeson and Claas I think were the real successful in export markets and became popular throughout Europe and in other continents. New Holland combines from Belgium are one of the most popular combines in the world.
Here are some pics of early Claeyson. (Also sold in Canada under CCIL brand. ) http://www.farmphoto.com/fpv2/thread.aspx?mid=312957 and the type sold in the USA in the 60's http://www.farmphoto.com/FPv2/thread.aspx?mid=268832
