East Kansas, DeSoto | Unbelievable changes in my lifetime. Shucked corn by hand to buy wife's engagement ring at 3 cents a bushel and real hard to get 80 bushel per day. Later after military service bought one of the first combines, a John Deere 45, to harvest corn shelled. Not an accepted practice yet then Following my grandfather around the field with the walking plow and to view modern practices around the world is a joy. Thanks for posting. Gifford | |
