you can use universal, hence the name "universal". I tossed deere universal sensor on my 694 corn head, that had height control, using 9450 combine. The height control sensors feed into the head wiring harness just like a flex head auto height control. The universal sensors had their own harness that went to it's own controller and then into the can bus for steering.
